"Mysteries Of Palermo" - UNESCO Half Day Tour

Mysteries of Palermo: tour description

The tour "Mysteries of Palermo" with Find Sicily starts at 9:30 from the "Santoro bar" in the direction of the Royal Palace, where we will discover the wonderful Cappella Palatina and discover the beauties of the Cathedral of Palermo, a World Heritage Site according to the recent UNESCO Classification. We will take a coffee break along the "Cassaro" to taste some Sicilian confectionery specialties of which we have a literary testimony, such as cassata and cannolo.

We will then proceed to "Porta Nuova" and "Quattro Canti" to reach the splendid fountain of Pretoria or "Vergogna", so called by the inhabitants of Palermo, since all the statues are represented nude. Among the various stories passed down orally by the people, there is one particularly curious about the Queen of Naples Giovanna D'Angiò, perhaps because of her propensity for equivocal relationships.

In the same area our tour will introduce you to the church of Martorana and San Cataldo with its famous domes. Always included in the ticket price you will visit two mysterious places like the Oratory of San Lorenzo where you will discover the mystery of "Caravaggio" and Palazzo Steri where you will be made aware of one of the most atrocious pages of the history of the city of Palermo, the Inquisition.
The tour includes:
  • all the entrances to the monuments we visit
  • coffee breaks
  • the multilingual guide
  • the snaps, if necessary
  • the gadgets that we will distribute to the group.

Visitors with a coupon with identification code must present themselves at 9:30 at the meeting point in front of the "Santoro Bar" in Piazza Indipendenza n ° 25. For visitors who want a transfer service from Trapani or Agrigento, it is possible to select the ticket specifically from the menu.
