"Mysteries Of Palermo" - UNESCO Walking Tour

The guided tour will starts at 9:30 am from the Teatro Massimo where our guide will show you the history of the greatest opera house in Italy (third largest in Europe), a story full of anecdotes and mysteries. We will continue through the Historical Market of the Capo where you will know the secrets of Beati Paoli and the Inquisition, in Piazza Pretoria will find two of the most important monuments of the center of Palermo: the Church of Martorana and San Cataldo famous for its famous domes, both considered Heritage of Humanity according to the recent UNESCO classification. The tour continues to Piazza Pretoria and its splendid fountain, well knowed as "Della Vergonga" because all the statues are naked. Among the various histories handed down orally by the people, there is one particularly story about the queen of Naples Giovanna D'Angiò, perhaps because of her propensity to equivocal relationships. It will be amazing to cross the Quattro Canti with the famous octagonal widening at the intersection of the two main road axes of Palermo: the Via Maqueda and the Cassaro. The tour will culminate at the bottom of Corso Vittorio Emanuele where we will find the magnificent Cathedral of Palermo.

The tour includes:
